What would happen if the world was overrun by zombies? The answer can be found by reaching for the new production prepared by a Polish development studio. The storyline deals with the very popular theme of the living dead and makes the game a good time killer! So what to do, when the rain doesn't let us out of the house, and all we have left are some supplies in the fridge and access to the Internet? We have an answer to this question!
Sometimes sunshine, sometimes rain
"Zombie Hunters: Apocalypse is a free browser game created by a Polish team. As the name may indicate the story begins during the outbreak of a great epidemic, the consequences of which I probably do not have to explain. Believe me, this is just the beginning of disasters. The game does not require logging in, however, it is necessary if we want to keep the progress achieved. At the start we are greeted by a short introduction that aims to introduce us to the prevailing atmosphere. I missed the sound effects here, but with low-budget projects this is often a shot in the arm. The fight for life is preceded by a choice of character gender. This is where the stairs begin.
It's not colorful
The images of the characters are severely underdeveloped. Pasted-in clothing parts are so conspicuous, it's as if no one tried to hide the carelessness. The interface is intensely minimalistic, which I usually appreciate in games, but here it is almost excessive, I would even say poor. All of the space is poorly utilized. Let's go to the gameplay. The first battle takes place right after the introduction. The whole mechanics of the battle is not engaging, everything is controlled with the left mouse button, but in the end such is the charm of browser games. The game offers us several ways to spend our time.
If you are a fan of the series "The Walking Dead" forget about the world presented in it. In "Zombie Hunter" we can explore every nook and cranny of the city facing only one opponent, and in each fight we can be assisted by no one else but our beloved sheepdog. Quite original idea. I'm not an expert on zombie apocalypse, but it seems that this is the only race resistant to the epidemic. In addition to the one-time trips, there is also the so-called "excursion", which is a longer search for items in various locations. This is a common option in this type of games and one of the most convenient. We send our character on a trip for a few hours, set the alarm clock and welcome him with open arms after a predetermined time. There is also an option "matchmaking", a PvP zone. A place where we can try our luck with other players. It seems to be a standard in online games, but for me it's quite a mundane way to test my strength, while all around there is a fight for the survival of mankind.
Together we are better off
Each player has the opportunity to join an alliance, or rather a so-called "gang". This option will provide us with plenty of bonuses, thanks to which it will be easier to get through the hardships of everyday life. What's interesting, we can use the 24-hour gym, where for food we can buy basic attributes. With other players we can communicate in the forum, or via chat. The second option is not particularly appealing to me for visual reasons, but it also has a few pluses. Here, the creators have definitely put on the practicality. The chat window is more like a discussion panel, it is clear and you can see most of the contributions of the day. Thanks to this solution we can find answers to some of our questions right there. Unfortunately there is no possibility to send a private message to other players.
From this flour can be bread
The game still needs a lot of work. Some modest sound effects and neat graphics definitely add to the enjoyment of the gameplay. "Zombie Hunters: Apocalypse" is a project with a lot of potential. With proper maintenance it can become quite a time killer. Is the game in its current form tempting as Charizard in the neighbor's garden? Judge for yourself.
